Pet Hydration

With summer upon us and the temperatures rising, staying hydrated is not only important for us but our pets too!

Here are a couple of ways to aid in water consumption:

  1. Invest in a running water fountain. These are a great way to entice your pet to drink more water.
  2. Treat your fur baby to some watermelon. Watermelon is approximately 92% water and is a great way to help keep them hydrated.
  3. Remember always to have cool (not cold), clean drinking water available. Animals are just like us. Clean water is way more appealing.

Keeping your pet cool also helps them stay hydrated. An overheated animal will lose a lot of their bodily fluids through sweat glands. Always have an accessible shady spot if out in the sun and never leave a pet in a hot car.
