National Best Friends Day

We all have a few close friends in our lives, and many of us have one or two best friends! Did you know that a pet can also be considered as one of our best friends? Although they may be covered with fur, and can’t exactly speak our language, we can still understand one another. Studies have shown that pets help reduce blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety and help with depression.

Pets don’t judge, no matter what you’re going through. They don’t care what anyone else on this planet thinks of you. They love us, unconditionally. Pets make the perfect listener when you need someone to talk to. They know that sometimes the right words are no words and that sometimes, a hug and a shoulder to cry on is what you need. Pets provide a lot of comfort and reassurance.

Our pets are always up for whatever you want to do. Like hiking? Your pet will go with you. They’re always ready for a snuggle on the couch to watch Netflix – they don’t even argue about what you want to watch! They will also be down for a good nap on those lazy afternoons. They are always up for doing whatever it is that we want to do.

In celebration of National Best Friends Day, share a picture of your favourite fuzzy friend (or friends!) for the world to see!
