Dr. Paul Rubinstein

I am originally from upstate New York, where I started working in a vet clinic the minute I turned 14 years old. I went to Auburn University in Alabama where I got my undergraduate degree and my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While there, I fell in love with college football and my incredible wife, who sat in the same row as me in vet school. I was in general practice in Montgomery, AL at a wonderful and progressive clinic where I had the opportunity to grow my skills, before moving to Canada in 2017 – first to NB, then to Newfoundland. I started at Torbay Road Animal Hospital in October 2021, and have been so happy to find such a caring, progressive, hardworking, and skilled team to welcome me! I have special interests in providing compassionate care in general, and specifically in dermatology, internal medicine, preventative medicine, general surgery, and pain management.

Also in 2021, my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world! When away from the office I spend as much time as I can with my wife, son, and our fur-babies; three dogs (Z, Disraeli “Dizzy”, and Thatcher) and cat (Gladstone – “Gladys” for short!).
